Cromar Protectif Non Breathable Membrane – Pack of 56

Protectif is a non breathable under slating for tiled and slated pitched roofs.

Protectif is a high performance underlay for pitched roofs, which must be ventilated in accordance with BS 5534 2003. Install in the same manner as conventional tile and slate underlays. Protectif prevents the ingress of dust, rain and snow into the roof void. The membrane is completely waterproof and correctly installed will provide temporary protection of 4 months until application of the main roof is finished. The high performance lightweight material is clean and easy to handle, and the 45m x 1m roll size allows for easy handling. Protectif is made up of three layer construction, comprising two UV stabilised, high tensile polypropylene fabric layers fused together around an impervious film and is coloured anthracite.

APPLICATION

Protectif underslating should be installed in accordance with the recommendations laid out in BS5534:2003 and B8000 Part6. Installation can be carried out in all conditions normal to roofing work. The product should be laid horizontally across the rafters, starting at the eaves. Protectif should be laid up the roof slope, draping over the rafters. Do not stretch tight – this will allow for minor temperature movements. Minimum lap size will depend on the pitch of the roof. Information is taken from BS 5534:2003.
